Situation:
This particular customer distributed a very large product, that when brand new shipped with cables, documentation , and other various components.
Problem:
Freight costs were unacceptable, and the customer had done all they could think of to reduce them. Going with the lowest cost provider was just not cutting it. In addition, the quantity per pallet was causing problems.
Streamlined Solution:
Packaging was intended for new build product with kitted parts. The size of packaging alone resulted in a higher priced package but substantially impacted the DIM weight and therefore the cost of freight as well. STS was able to provide a solution for the service packaging, reducing the size 40-50%, thus reducing freight costs, and increasing the unit capacity per pallet. STS has performed this service for many customers resulting in a savings anywhere from 15-50% on packaging and shipping costs alone.
