Situation:
Our customer had some out of warranty return rates skyrocketing, and they were getting a bad reputation on this product.
Problem:
This particular product had a picker assembly that seemed to cause the majority of failures, resulting in a high and costly return rate.
Streamlined Solution:
STS performed in depth FA on a designated quantity of units, and determined the plastic picker guides were causing the problem. We had aluminum guides manufactured for the purpose of replacing the plastic ones. As predicted, a sample of the value-added product showed this simple and inexpensive change eliminated the returns in question.
